Earth Literacy... The Great Story... The Universe
Story
We must rethink our understanding of Ecology,
Health & Healing, Agriculture, Economics, Governance, Education and
Spirituality ... both individually and collectively.
Towards a more harmonious co-existence between
Humans and the Earth.
The Great Story & Thank God for Evolution
Rev. Michael Dowd and Connie Barlow
The Rev. Michael Dowd, America’s Evolutionary Evangelist, was in the
Pittsburgh area on May 30-31, 2008 as part of his tour to promote the 2nd
edition of his book "Thank God for Evolution" (TGFE).
Many people in Pittsburgh are already familiar with him, his wife, the educator
and science writer Connie Barlow, and their
extraordinary work nationally. In our opinion, this message is an essential
eco-spiritual foundation upon which anyone can create transformational
socio-political-spiritual experiences to open and expand our collective
eco-consciousness.
Michael Dowd, shares a story that’s billions of years old. Find out why Americans everywhere are engaging in a life-changing new conversation about
Creation, Evolution and the Story of the Universe. See for yourself why Nobel Prize winning scientists and religious leaders across the spectrum are lining up to praise his bold new book that builds bridges, provides guidance, and restores realistic hope for people of any religion or belief system.
Proceeds from the sale of the books and DVDs from Michael Dowd and Connie Barlow help fund
their mission of reconciling science and religion through a deeper spiritual understanding of evolution, creation, and the story of the universe.

Raising Sustainability Consciousness
Helping Everyone take Great Care of our Planet too!
What is Sustainability?
While there are many definitions which are specific to each
of the spheres of application in the field, we take a larger
view by defining Sustainability as the combined awareness,
attitudes, actions, systematic disciplines and practices
that preserve, enable and enhance the most harmonious
relationship between all living organisms on the planet
earth, for the longest amount of time, in terms of
environmental, economic and social outcomes (the 3-legged
stool definition).
What happens when we achieve
Sustainability?
First of all, let us clarify that Sustainability is a
journey and not a destination. The journey towards
sustainability is inexorably linked to the advancement and
preservation of life species (the web of life), and the
interconnected ecosystems, in a mutually supportive manner.
The following 4 conditions are generally accepted as the
criteria for assessing that our society is in a balanced or
sustainable state with the planet:
1. In the sustainable society,
nature is not subject to systematically increasing
concentrations of substances extracted from the
Earth's crust.
2. In the sustainable society,
nature is not subject to systematically increasing
concentrations of substances produced by society.
3. In the sustainable society,
nature is not subject to systematically increasing
degradation by physical means.
4. In the sustainable society,
human needs are met worldwide.

How can each of us change towards more sustainable
practices?
This is a question we often hear from people who understand the gravity of the situation. The first step is to decide to get involved in one or more groups that are currently advocating and practicing sustainable methods already in the region.
These groups are generally pursuing one or more of these
objectives:
1. Reduce wasteful dependence
upon fossil fuels, scarce metals, and minerals that
accumulate in nature.
2. Reduce wasteful dependence
upon chemicals and synthetic substances that
accumulate in nature.
3. Reduce encroachment upon
nature.
4. Meet human needs fairly and
efficiently.
We will begin to feature these groups on this site real
soon!
