Featured Teachers (Alphabetical Order)
Amber Baker, Kundalini Yoga Instructor
In her own words: "I completed my Kundalini yoga
certification courses in May 2007 at Kundalini Yoga in Chicago. For the
past eight years, I have also been a practicing certified massage
therapist, having received my certification through the Nuin Center in
Pittsburgh. In addition, my experience includes twelve years of social
work, working with many types of children. I am currently working with
children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. As a teacher of
Kundalini Yoga, my classes focus on letting yourself be exactly where
you are and building on that foundation of acceptance. I will always
strive to tell you both the benefits of what you are doing as well as
the physiological responses that create that benefit. If I don't have an
immediate answer for a question you may have, I will certainly find it
as soon as possible!"

Patricia Cardoza: Psychotherapy, Reiki, Aromatherapy & Crystals
Patty is a
certified Rational Emotional Behavioral Therapist (REBT), which is
recognized around the world as a quick and highly
effective psychotherapy method to deal with emotional and behavioral
patterns. It is simple yet deep and effective. Patty declares: "My therapies are based on
compassion and love -- helping clients find in a gentle and kind
way that their negative habits and patterns can indeed be overcome. In
this way, I give my clients behavioral strategies to use as life-long
tools, especially whenever similar situations reappear". She
received her
certification in Lima Peru, at the ITREC Institute, which is a licensee of the Albert Ellis Institute of New York City (www.rebt.org).
Reiki is a popular Japanese technique
for healing with the hands. "It is the most effective energy therapy in
my experience" says Patty. Through Reiki, Patty transmits positive
universal energy to her clients. She calls her style Reiki Dharma
in honor of her Reiki Teacher, Master Frank ARJAVA Petter (www.reikidharma.com).
Patty completed Master Arjava's intensive 12-day Master Training Seminar
in 2003 in Lima Peru under his personal supervision. Her
Reiki Mother is
Master Ivana Rigobello, who has
over 30 years of healing hands experience in Peru. "She is a wonderful
and compassionate teacher, and a close and personal friend", states
Patty.
In
Aromatherapy, the oils are applied
directly onto the skin by single drops or gently massaged for a couple
of minutes on the body. The oils are absorbed into the bloodstream
though the skin, and activate parts of your brain which in turn activate
key parts of your body. Certain essences, such as: Jasmine, Lavender,
Eucalyptus, Lemon, Bergamot, Orange, Geranium, Patchouli, and Rose, are
either used alone on different parts of the body, or occasionally mixed
for optimal effect. Patty states: "My work in Peru allows me to use a
wonderful, all-natural brand of essential oil from Santa Natura.
Here in the U.S., an excellent brand is Young Living Essential Oils".
In her crystal therapy massages, Patty
employs stones of different shapes and colors, which are obtained from
the highlands of Peru. She states: "I usually start my treatment with
PIRITA, also known as Fool's Gold! Quartz crystals of different colors
may be used, generally related to the color of the chakra with which I
am working. I usually finish the sessions with a Laser quartz crystal".
A unique characteristic of her practice is that she uses a pendant
quartz crystal on her left hand while she massages with the quartz
crystal on her right hand. "This is the way I was taught to do it in
order to fully drain out the negative energy that is stuck in the body
as blockages or knots" she says.

Play will help you to take your leadership initiatives to a new level.
His background includes work in education, wellness and counseling. He
left this work shortly after 9/11 to focus on helping people develop
better relationships through Original Play. Daniel now travels across
North America assisting groups and organizations with challenging
situations and relationships. He facilitates Original Play programs for
youth groups, colleges, businesses and conferences. Daniel’s articles on
Original Play have appeared in education and personal development
publications.
For over the past fifteen years children and wild animals have taught
me more about relationships that most any class or textbook. My teachers
include whales and dolphins, bears and manatees, wolves, hummingbirds
and special needs children. They have pulled me from an academic world
into a new way of learning and relating to others. Their gifts of
kindness and safety sustain me everyday in the adult world of struggles,
fear and revenge.
Original Play is the kindest way of relating to the world. It sends a
message of love, trust and connection. The practice of play promotes
personal safety while also promoting the safety of others around you.
Many view play as the busyness of children with no value for adults.
Original Play is different because it calls us to respond to the world
with messages of unconditional kindness and clarity- a valuable skill to
practice for personal and professional development.
Original Play reminds us that connecting with our world is not the
fantasy of fiction or pointless musings. The information found in
Original Play is based on science and practice. This practice takes
relationship and community development to a new level. Read more about
it HERE!

Carol
Ciocco: Angel Gatherings and Reconnection
Carol Ann Ciocco is an Angel Intuitive who has studied with
Dr. Doreen Virtue, a well-known Angel Intuitive in
California. Carol is the Founder of Angel Gatherings
TM (www.AngelGatherings.com)
a company that brings Tupperware-style Angel Parties to your
home or office.
As a child Carol and her Mother could see and sense the
Angels all around them; and Carol's life was saved by an
Angel when she was 10 years old. As a result, Carol has had
a life-long relationship with the Angelic Realm and wants to
help others to connect with their Angels as well.
During her time with you -- whether in a group setting (an
Angel Gathering) or in one-on-one interaction (a private
Angel Reading) -- Carol connects in with your Angels to
bring through information that will help you find your life
purpose and bring more joy and flow into your life. She
also helps you to establish a clearer connection with your
Angels so that you may contact them on your own whenever you
need assistance or guidance.
Carol uses the gorgeous and magical Angel cards created by Dr.
Doreen Virtue in order to facilitate your connection with the
Angels. She uses all of the Doreen Virtue card decks, including
"Healing with the Angels," "Healing with the Fairies," the
"Dolphins and Mermaids" cards, and "The Archangel Oracle"
cards. The images on the cards spark healing and recognition,
and are the starting point for messages from your Angels to come
through. Carol also identifies which Archangel(s) you are
working with, and helps you to sense the presence of the Angels
through powerful body and soul signals that happen during the
reading.
After interacting with Carol, who guides you to connect with
your Angels, you will have an idea of what it feels like to
be in a room full of angels -- this is the goal of Angel
Gatherings. You will take this feeling -- and many new
skills that facilitate Angel connection -- with you so that you
can more easily connect with your Angels on your own, any time
you want.
To help you on your continuing path of Angel Connection,
Carol publishes a free monthly e-newsletter about Angels,
which you can sign up for at her website:

Rev. Amanda DeShong, MS, CHP, SH
Rev. Amanda DeShong is a
Spiritual Medium and Healer. She is also an Environmental
Health and Safety Engineer of over 20 years. She says, “Our
planet as a whole and our sustainability is always on my
mind and in my heart.” She is a Certified Crystal Healing
Practitioner and works with vibrational medicine. Amanda had
psychic experiences from an early age. As time passed, these
experiences were not looked upon favorably. As many
intuitives do, she began putting them in the attic of her
mind. About 17 years ago as an engineer she was confronted
with spirituality (her mind’s attic was full). She says, “I
felt things realigning in my life and I began to open the
door to the attic of my mind that I closed so many years
before. Now I welcome Spirit daily as a wonderful friend
into the living room of my life."
Amanda now devotes here life to
Spiritual and Environmental concerns. She is devoted to her
Mediumship, Chakra Balancing and Crystal Healing as well as
other forms of vibrational medicine. She teaches about
healing energy and the ways of the spirit world. She says,
“Without the awareness of spiritual reality, we cannot
live fully in this world nor prepare for the next.”
Rick DiClemente: Humanistic Astrologer
Humanistic Astrology
- Beyond the study of personality quirks and predicting
external events, is the study of our inner cycles and how
they manifest. It focuses on how we are a part of the
Greater Collective. It gives us a broader understanding of
ourselves and what makes us function, examining how and when
a person unfolds, and in what manner. It guides us to
balanced action through the roller-coaster ride of life. It
is the study of our planets, symbolizing our
inner urges and our actualization. Carl Jung spoke of our
connectivity to the great collective; Humanistic Astrology
is its map ; all that comes from it is life affirming
- a map of us evolving from within; not what the exterior is
doing to us.
Rick
DiClemente, a Pittsburgh Psychic Astrologer has been
practicing Astrology for 27 years. He has taught many
courses, read thousands of charts, hosted radio talk-shows
and presented workshops. His focus is on how we develop
from the inside out. He doesn’t predict the future but
helps you get a better understanding of the past and
present. Future tendencies are mapped out in general
so a client will understand the kind of developmental cycles
they are in. He shows how the planets and signs represent
evolving energies within you, not how you are being
bombarded from the exterior. His sessions are an affirmation
that you already know what to do! [TOP]
Edward Dinnen: Conscious
Transformation Workshop
Edward Dinnen holds a Master’s
degree in Psychology from Newport University, Newport Beach,
California. In the working world Ed has successfully done marketing and
sales, helped create start up companies, and done extensive
organizational and operational consulting. Currently he is exploring a
path of personal transformation, while making ends meet, which is
precisely what George Leonard and Michael Murphy of the
Esalen Institute call “a
householder’s
path”.
Ed describes his
workshop at The Green Bough as follows:
Have you ever thought that we must be here for a reason other than
merely working to get by? Consider this question: are we still evolving?
Our mind and body is integrated. We, all of us, learn. Ultimately we may
well be able to evolve capacities that currently are termed
extraordinary. Research conducted by George Leonard and Michael Murphy,
of the Esalen Institute
strongly suggests that the best path to the realization of our
latent powers lies in a long-term practice which integrates mind, body,
heart, and soul. Integral Transformative Practice (ITP), is a
path of practice that can help you realize your inborn genius while
bringing pleasure, fulfillment, and good health, not just during this
workshop but also in the weeks, months, and years to come. You will be
introduced to a forty-minute series that includes physical movement,
breathing practice, relaxation, transformative imaging, and meditation.
You will practice balancing and centering, the use of ki, focused
surrender, and the creation of effective affirmation. This workshop
involves physical movement but is not strenuous. All that's needed is a
generous heart and a willingness to participate.

Kathy
Duffy: Drawing from the Heart
Join
us for a creative journey into spontaneous expressions of feelings
through drawing. The exercises in this workshop are designed to
allow those expressions to be sourced through simple artwork that
evolves from feeling, not artistic skill. You will be guided to intend

Charles Lanigan:
Personal Decision-Making for Health and Wellness
We are faced every day with
the opportunity and the necessity of making decisions that affect our health
and well-being. The options that confront us include what type of care to seek,
choices of diet and exercise to improve wellness, and avoiding things that are
harmful. Sometimes it seems we are beset both by too little and too much
information about the effectiveness and differences among alternative and
mainstream approaches to health and wellness. Some of this comes from sources
that are biased. Some of it comes from people who are well-meaning but don't
understand our particular circumstances. Navigating through the choices may
seem at times overwhelming.
The good news is that we
can practice techniques and approaches for making decisions more easily and more
successfully. This introductory workshop teaches clear guidelines for making
decisions related to health and wellness. Rather than recommend a specific approach
or modality, it will help you choose your own unique path to wellness.
Attendees will learn:
-
How to
become a better consumer of wellness products and services
-
Clear
steps for educating yourself and making decisions about health and
wellness options
-
Ways to
choose and work effectively with a practitioner
-
How to
become an advocate for your own health and that of the people you care
about
You
should attend this workshop if:
-
You want to
understand what alternative, complementary and integrative medicine are in
relation to western medicine
-
You are
facing a chronic health condition and want unbiased guidance from someone
who's been there in exploring alternative and complementary approaches to
diet, lifestyle and treatment
-
You are
already familiar with alternative and complementary approaches but want
help determining your goals and choosing the modality and practitioner
that work best for you

Over the years, yoga
prevented a need for carpel tunnel surgery and allowed her to maintain a

peaceful heart and mindset which went beyond “yoga time” into daily
life.
In her own words: "Yoga
helped me be aware of how I treated my body, which led me first to a
vegetarian, then vegan, lifestyle. Now, I am excited to help others
explore their own yoga journey".
William Meader, International Philosopher
For over 20 years, William Meader has been a student and teacher of
Esoteric Psychology. Central to his teaching is an exploration of the
many facets of spiritual psychology as conveyed within a theosophical
framework. His efforts represent an amalgamation of subjects central to
a progressive spirituality. Such topics as the psychology of the soul,
esoteric astrology/cosmology, and the nature of soulful creativity are
the cornerstones of his work. His passion is to teach people the deeper
implications of modern spiritual development, and the means to more
effectively express the soul in the outer world. William’s work is
international in scope, and has gained widespread recognition. His
articles are often featured in the Point of Light spiritual magazine and
have also been published internationally.
William is also a
trained Esoteric Astrologer. The focus of this aspect of his work is to
astrologically help people gain a deeper understanding of the Soul’s
nature and purpose. Also examined are the personality factors that tend
to block the Soul from achieving its incarnational intention. From this,
methods are suggested to counter these tendencies so as to facilitate
greater Soul expression.
In addition to his
spiritual interests, William has an advanced degree in the behavioral
sciences, and has had several years experience as a psychology professor
in California. Much of this work centered upon the transpersonal aspects
of human consciousness. Having received a university degree in Business
Management, he also has experience as a business educator, offering a
variety of staff development seminars and workshops to the business
community. Currently William is teaching and lecturing in Europe,
America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. He is married, and lives in
the San Francisco area.

Ingrid Mundari, Kundalini Yoga Instructor
The word yoga comes from
the ancient Sanskrit language and means "union" or "yoke". The practice
of yoga not only enables the union of the body, the mind and the spirit,
but even more importantly, it enables the union of individual
consciousness within infinite consciousness. The benefits of practicing
yoga are many and varied. They include enhanced health and wellbeing,
greater flexibility, and stronger more balanced immune, digestive,
eliminative and nervous systems, and in Kundalini Yoga these benefits
are enhanced through the use of mantras, kriyas and meditations.
Kundalini Yoga is an ancient form of yoga practiced for many centuries
in India and the East. Many of its practices were kept secret until
Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan,
came to America to teach it in the late 1960's. Kundalini Yoga has been
said to be "dynamic in its practice, vast in practical information,
and powerful in its experience".

Jill Palermo:
Art interconnecting Biology and Spirituality
Jill Palermo has received six fellowships and grants for her painting. Her work was placed on Pittsburgh's "2004's Best Art" list. Recent solo shows include "Cellular Luminaries" at The World Universe Gallery in New York, "Recent Works" at the Life Sciences Greenhouse, and "Out of Nothing" at Springboard Space in Pittsburgh. Mary Thomas of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reviewed "Out of Nothing," saying "Palermo's deft handling of paint- a bare wash reminiscent of Rothko in one area, finely defined veins elsewhere- makes her a painter's painter." Coinciding with the exhibition, Palermo hosted a workshop with BMC practitioner Mark Taylor entitled "Voice of the Living Cell."
In 2004, Palermo was chosen to exhibit in "Generation Art II," featuring five emerging painters, at The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. She has also recently been included in juried group shows at The Westmoreland Art Nationals, 937 Liberty Avenue Gallery as part of the Three Rivers Arts Festival, Take Two Gallery in East Stroudsburg, PA, and The Regina Gouger Miller Gallery. In June of 2004, she was chosen as a visiting artist at www.crudeoils.us
.
Palermo received her bachelor of fine arts degree with a minor in architecture from Carnegie Mellon University in 2002. She has studied in Barcelona, Spain, and lived in an intentional community in Southwest Oregon, learning about sustainability, organic gardening, animal husbandry, and forming community. Palermo is also a North Star certified life coach, and is currently doing further training with the NLP and Coaching Institute. In 2001, she started The Copper Onion, a handmade metal jewelry business, exhibiting at art festivals and galleries around the country. Palermo lives and works in Pittsburgh's expanding art zone of Lawrenceville.
Jase Peck:
Self Empowerment
Writes Jase: "
I think
everyone has a story as to how they got started and I wanted to
share my personal journey into these fields. Everything started in
my late teens. I was very physically fit. I ran between eight to
twelve miles every day. At the peak of my teenage health, I caught
pneumonia and was in the hospital with record breaking temperatures
for seven days. After lots of prayer I recovered, I wanted to know
how to keep well and healthy. Some of the things I observed in that
hospital made me wonder why people get into that state in the first
place. This is where I began my search for things that work.
I
have always had a curiosity in health and well being. I spent time
learning about the mind-body connection and researching western
medicine. To me there seemed to be a lot more than someone giving
you 10 minutes and then sending you off with a prescription for some
chemicals. Don't get
me wrong, western medicine has its merits, but to me it seemed that
when the head of the cardiology ward for USC died of a heart attack
when she was only 43 that there might just be something that can
work to keep you from getting to those life threatening states as
well as get everything back into balance before something major goes
wrong. I was doing a lot of traveling for probably 14 years. I met
up with some amazing people from the USA and abroad. I honed my
interests into a few areas.
VoiceBio,
Shamanic Soul Retrieval, Body Language, and a few other useful
tools.
Back in the
middle to late 80s, I studied with Michael Harner in his basic and
advanced classes in Shamanism. It always fascinated me that there
were so many people that, even though that they seemed OK on the
outside, they were out of balance on the inside. I have been doing
soul retrieval for over 17 years. I also spent a lot of time working
with or apprenticing under Grandfather Wallace Black Elk,
Grandfather Gilbert Walking Bull, John Tarwater, and Sunbear. I even
spent a some time with Brant Secunda and the Huichol Indians. I have
been on vision quests in the Lakota tradition as part of my search
for what works.
I met
up with a wonderful woman named Kae Thompson-Lui who founded a group
called
www.voicebio.com.
VoiceBio used very precise sound to rebuild a persons energy in
their body. In 1993, there were a lot of different types of
alternative medicine out there, but this one could show very
reproducible results. In addition, with some training and
understanding, you didn't need to be an intuitive to be able to help
others using its methods.
I am very
glad to be able to facilitate help in all areas (physical,
emotional, mental, spiritual) to bring people back into
balance. After working with these, I found that a person can need
help in just one or sometimes all four areas to become in balance.
The physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual areas make up our
entire being. Once you get these into balance and strengthen them,
there are almost no limits to what you can accomplish in life.
I teach
classes and workshops on shamanism, shamanic journeywork, body
language for self empowerment and nutritional awareness. I have lead
sweat lodges and ceremonies for health and healing and helped a great
number of people to achieve self empowerment as well as self
awareness.
I have
worked with many clients over the years, and I am blessed to be
able to offer something that works for everyone. When a client wants
just the physical brought into balance through a scientific method I
use the VoiceBio. When the client wants the rest of their self back
in balance I use some of the other methods I have been trained in.
In the end its about getting a person back to being their true
healthy on all levels self. I have gathered my knowledge, honed it
into what works and used it to great success. References are always
available.
I wouldn't
trade the amount of time, money, and effort I have put into my path
for anything. The success stories are almost too many to count. Each
smile, each thank you, and each person who brings balance and
self-empowerment back into their life reminds me that all the study,
all the traveling, and all the effort was worth it.
Thanks for reading.. "

for 17 years and a Body Language Consultant and Trainer 20 years.

Chris Zimmerman, 6th Generation Yang Style Tai Ji Quan Master
Zimmerman Shi Fu was born in the Year of the Ox in Pittsburgh,
PA. He is a Chinese Martial Arts Master. He has trained
in Chinese Martial Arts (wu shu) exclusively for over 10 years. He
currently lives in Pittsburgh and also has a home in Shanghai,
China where his Chinese wife and their newborn son await immigration to the USA.
During his visits to China, he meets with his master Zhou Min De and
receives additional martial arts instruction and fine-tuning at the Shanghai
Jing Wu (Chin-Woo) school located in the pu xi (west) section of Shanghai.
Zimmerman Shi Fu is certified to teach:
- Yang Style Tai Ji Quan
- Qi Gong (energy work)
- Nei Gong (internal work)
- Xin Yi Liu He Quan (mind-intention 6
combination fighting style)
- Mi Zong Lian Bu Quan (Huo Yuan Jia esoteric
fighting style)
- Mian Quan (secret “cotton” fighting style),
and
- Chan (Zen) Meditation.
Zimmerman Shi Fu is known for his disciplined yet
gentle teaching style. His approach is personalized and aimed at helping his students become the best that
they can be. Competitiveness with
others is not encouraged, rather, challenging and improving one’s self is the
ultimate goal to achieve balance and harmony of the body / heart / mind /
spirit. By way of the Chinese tradition and his teacher Zhou Shi Fu, he is bound
by oath to only teach students who are relatively pure of heart and will not
misuse the teachings in any way.
Zimmerman Shi Fu is the only known direct descendant
of the traditional Yang style Tai Ji Quan school who currently teaches in the mainland
United States. Although the famous Cheng Man Ching was a disciple of Yang
Cheng Fu and taught Tai Ji Quan in the United States for some time before
his death, he had altered the system (as some great masters do) to his own style
and did not teach the traditional Yang family style to his American students (some of
whom eventually became teachers).

Tom Zeller,
Healer, Thai Body Sculptor & Herbalist
In 1981, while he was working as a carpenter at a construction site,
Tom was injured severely. This injury left him in paralyzing pain, which
terminated his employment at that location and impaired his ability to
continue to make a living at this skill.
Upon the initial diagnostic with the orthopedic, he realized that the
pain killing drugs and “cut and slash” approach offered by the
allopathic community would not fully heal him. So he turned to Holistic
methods of health care. Through prayer and mediation upon the Bible and
his Christian faith, Tom was guided to read several other texts on
ancient forms of healing. Being a Literary Scholar and having read the
Bible several times, became very beneficial in this time of his life. He
realized that a true “transformation” needed to take place in his life,
incorporating a completely different “lifestyle”. His prayers guided him
to other texts that enlightened him to HEAL HIMSELF. He was now
experiencing a “vibrancy of being” rather then a “day to day existence”.
Tom has lived in several countries throughout his life. He has often
referred to various ancient cultures to provide inspiration for his
healing techniques. His mother was a great influence on his style and
grace; and his father provided him with the “training of a boxer” that
affect his stamina, and the “twitch muscles” so beneficial as a
“Sculptor of Bodies”.
His high degree of skill is a phenomenal “life changing” awareness
for all of those whom he touches. Tom’s quick wit and profound sense of
timing help the body to unblock the meridians and complete the vibration
cycle of health and healing. The transfer of energy that naturally
occurs through the system improves lymphatic drainage, increases the
circulation of the blood and thus the proper oxygenation to all the
organs, bringing health and wellness to the entire person on a physical,
emotional, mental and even spiritual level.
